We deliver services across the ACT covering children, families, young people and seniors including housing and mental health services.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Transport Driver to assist older adults and people with disabilities to remain active and engaged in the community. In this vital role, you will provide safe and high-quality transport services aligned with the Aged Care Quality Standards.

Our Offer

  • Fixed-term part-time appointment (30 hours/week) up to 30 June 2027.
  • Salary of SCS2 $67,554.35 – $73,721.39 (pro-rata) plus 11.5% Superannuation.

Job Description

About the role

  • Provide safe and appropriate community transport to meet the needs and goals of service users.
  • Support service users with kindness, professionalism, and respect.
  • Apply a Reablement approach to foster client independence and reduce reliance on care services.
  • Support participation in community activities that promote social inclusion.
  • Ensure vehicles are used safely and in accordance with WCS policies.
  • Collect and return financial contributions from service users daily.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet service delivery targets (95% of funded outputs).
  • Maintain accurate transport records and submit data daily.
  • Deliver services in line with Aged Care Quality Standards, especially Standard 1: Consumer Dignity and Choice.
  • Contribute positively to a team environment and participate in team meetings.
  • Comply with workplace safety, equity, and diversity principles.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to provide sensitive and appropriate support to people who are ageing and/or have a disability.
  • Good interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with service users.
  • Current ACT drivers license applicable to both manual and automatic transmissions and an exemplary driving record.
  • Computer literate in a “windows” environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of professional boundaries, privacy and confidentiality.
  • Current ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration.
  • Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one.
