About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Compliance Support Officer to join our team. This is a full-time position, based at our Woden location. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that our services comply with all relevant regulatory and legislative standards. As a Compliance Support Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring compliance and safety regulations, supporting the delivery of high-quality programs, and ensuring that the service is operating in line with industry best practices.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure all programs adhere to WCS’s policies and procedures, as well as relevant standards and regulatory requirements, including funding body guidelines.

  • Perform regular service compliance audits and report findings to the Team Leader, Corporate Quality and Risk.

  • Offer support and expert advice on compliance matters to services and team members.

  • Assist services in preparing for, and attending, external compliance audits and Children’s Services Assessment & Rating visits.

  • Provide high-quality and timely compliance reports as requested, ensuring clarity and accuracy.

  • Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and industry standards, maintaining professional knowledge to ensure continued compliance.

  • Actively participate in team meetings, organisational activities, and contribute to the development of best practices.

  • Contribute to ensuring that internal policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated.

  • Follow the WCS Work Health and Safety Policy and Procedures, ensuring the safety of yourself, your colleagues, and service users at all times.

  • Foster a workplace culture where all team members are valued, respected, and recognised, applying principles of workplace diversity and equity.

  • Apply the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations as relevant to the role.

Compliance Support Officer
 

To be successful for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Demonstrated experience with interpreting and auditing against standards and legislation. ·
  • Strong organisational and time management skills including the ability to manage competing and/or changing priorities and deliver to deadlines.
  • Proven team-oriented approach, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and coordinate information flows within the team and with other business areas. 
  • Knowledge of National Quality Framework (NQF) and Aged Care standards.
  • Experience with report writing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Proficiency in, or the ability to rapidly learn relevant software, tools, and industry-specific technologies
