About the Role

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Centre Director to lead our Lyons Early Learning Centre (ELC) and Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) programs. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of children’s education and care within a collaborative, community-focused organisation.

As Centre Director, you will be accountable for the efficient operation and strong, intentional leadership of both the ELC and OSHC programs. Your leadership will ensure the delivery of high-quality educational programs, child safety, and compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements. You will act as the Nominated Supervisor and Educational Leader under the Children’s Education and Care National Law for two approved services.

You will inspire and guide educators, foster a positive workplace culture, build meaningful partnerships with families and the community, and uphold WCS’s Child Safe Commitment. Your strategic leadership will drive continuous improvement and professional growth, ensuring the best outcomes for children and families.

Job Description

To be successful for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Bachelor of Teaching/Education (Early Childhood) – 4 years, ACECQA approved

  • Minimum 5 years practical experience in early learning settings

  • At least 2 years in an early learning management role with direct staff supervision

  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and mediation skills

  • Proven budget management experience

  • In-depth knowledge of the National Quality Framework, EYLF & MTOP, and government funding models

  • Commitment to professional boundaries and ethical practices.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Children’s Services Program, Three-Year-Old Preschool Initiative, and Additional Child Care Subsidy programs

  • Current First Aid Certificate (including Asthma and Anaphylaxis)

  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Card and Police Check

  • Mandatory Reporting training/refresher within the last 12 months
