As part of our Social Enterprise team, you’ll play a key role in a meaningful initiative that provides hands-on training and nationally recognised competencies to young individuals facing employment barriers. Our team delivers professional services across canteens, catering, while fostering skill development in a supportive workplace.

Are you passionate about cooking and eager to grow your kitchen skills alongside experienced professionals? We are looking for an enthusiastic Canteen Manager who will be responsible for the management and operation of our school canteen.

Our Offer:

  • Permanent part time appointment (up to 30 hours/week).
  • Salary of $60,639.58 pa (pro-rata) plus 11.5% superannuation. Please note the salary is Pro Rated based on working 40 weeks a year and part-time during school terms only.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

  • Plan, organise, and monitor the day-to-day operations of the canteen, including management of canteen assistants and volunteers.
  • Induct and train canteen staff and provide direction through clear and effective plans, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure staff respond to customers’ needs, provide high quality customer service, and ensure effective response to complaints and incidents that may arise.
  • Maintain daily record-keeping, counting, recording and reconciling the daily takings.

Experience & Qualifications:  

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality service.
  • Ability to establish and maintain networks.
  • Knowledge of food safety and WHS legislation.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well and drive continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated high level of written skills, including the ability to complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated understanding of professional boundaries, privacy and confidentiality.
  • Current Driver’s license and have access to a roadworthy, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle for work purposes.

To be eligible for employment, you must have an active Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card, working rights in Australia, and be willing to undertake background checks required for the position, including a National Police Check.
